Dover Field Productions

Nathan T. Ryan, Director / Editor

I love films and I love making them. A graduate of the S.I. Newhouse College of Communications at Syracuse University, I have over 25 years of film and video experience. In addition to my considerable camera experience, I am an extremely versatile editor, easily jumping from Final Cut Pro, to Adobe Premiere, to Avid Media Composer, depending on the needs of the client.

I have produced videos for many companies, including Apple, Hasbro, Macmillan, Hewlett-Packard, Dealnews, William Raveis Real Estate, Amherst College, Princeton Academic Resources, Nickelodeon, HBO, genConnect, and Boris FX.

I have worked for Macmillan as a freelancer since 2003. With a special focus on college-level psychology, I have filmed, edited and authored dozens of educational DVDs. High-profile titles include Scientific American Frontiers, Kathleen Berger’s Journey Through the Lifespan, and Ronald Comer’s Abnormal Psychology. I am responsible for restoring some of their older archival films, and I maintain their video collection.

For Hasbro, I have edited and color-graded many national TV spots and internal corporate videos. Product lines I’ve worked on include Disney, Star Wars, Jurassic World, Marvel, Spider-Man, Play-Doh, Transformers, Furby, Monopoly, and many others.

I have produced many videos for William Raveis Exceptional Properties, including home tours, home buying and selling tips. I recently produced promotional materials for the William Raveis Charitable Fund, in association with the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation.

In the video software world, I was Apple Computer’s After Effects product specialist during the development of Final Cut Pro 2 and iMovie 2. I worked as a QA engineer for Integrated Computing Engines (ICE) and Anystream (now Telestream). I currently produce video tutorials for Boris FX, instructing users how to use their video filters.

When I am not working on television commercials or corporate videos, I am producing my own films. I am also an avid film buff, and I could talk to you for hours about Laurel and Hardy, Universal monsters, Akira Kurosawa films . . . you name it!

In the meantime, please feel free to contact me for all your film and video needs. You can download my cirriculum vitae here. Thank you!

Vaya con Dios.
